Hazel Walton

- Founder & Organizer -

From an early age I was moved by animals and their plight. As a teenager the only career I felt passionate about was in Nature Conservation, unfortunately in those dark ages it was purely the domain of males. I then thought possibly animal welfare but I knew I was too emotional to do that. Instead I decided that I would put my mind and energy to raise funds to assist animals. This dream has given birth to Animals Have Rights 2. My career path has found me starting companies, delving in property, organising music events and Classic Car shows. All this know how can now be put to good use in fullfilling my life long dream of fundraising in order to assist animals to good health and a better life as well as educating people in animal care.

Tracy Hyde

- Secretary -

It has been a long time that I have wanted to take up this charitable cause of helping animals with the knowledge that animals are not able to do so in this world dominated by the overpopulation of humans. I believe in the concept of helping the helpless and can think of no better place to do this by supporting the beautiful creatures we share this planet with, creatures that share human emotions such as love, empathy and fear. I respect all those that dedicate themselves to the welfare of animals.

Reneë Goodman

- Financial -

As a fervent animal lover Renee has always had pets in her family. “They brighten up every day with their awesome personalities and unconditional love! I couldn’t imagine a life without my furry babies”.

She has a bachelor degree in Financial Management and has spent the past 34 years in the financial industry, originally on the business side of finance including as a Credit Manager for Netcare 911 which gave her the opportunity to give back to people in need while still building a stable profit line where there wasn’t any for over 5 years. In 2009 she moved into a software testing position for the financial services industry and has been devoting her time to ensuring quality applications for financial wellness since.

Taking on the treasurer responsibilities for Animals Have Rights 2 is a chance to merge Renee’s two passions, animals and finance, into one, with the added bonus of being able to proactively assist animals in need. Her approach is complete transparency and adherence to the strict NPO regulations for collecting and allocating funds to where it is needed most.

Amiena Davids

- Social Media -

Amiena Davids grew up with many pets. She is especially fond of cats. In 2014 she spotted a feral cat in her neighbourhood and gave him food but could not stop thinking about that cat. Something in his eyes told her he needed help so she went back the next day to find a big colony; hungry and in need of sterilisation. She educated herself and has been caring for them daily ever since. Amiena is connected to and volunteers at Cat Trapping and Sterilisation Network whose main aim is vital sterilisation.
She assists with fundraising, markets, social media and TNR programs. Soon she came to learn that there were many other colonies in the area that needed assistance and took on the task. She created a Facebook group called Obs Pets to create awareness of feral cats and help with creating posters and networking lost and found pets. Promoting microchips and education regarding the basic needs of an animal is on top of her list. Amiena's main focus is sterilisation to minimize the overpopulation of stray and feral animals and improving their lives by TNR and after care.
